Committee type: CEO Advisory Committee — Integrated members of the Emerging Professionals Committee

Zone Representatives strengthen engagement and help build engineering communities within their regions. By supporting local events, promoting professional development opportunities, fostering connections among registrants, and increasing awareness of Engineers Nova Scotia initiatives, they bring the profession closer to registrants across the province. This role is well suited to people who enjoy making connections, building community, and championing local engagement.

Committee Information:

• Supported by the Director of Professional Sustainment and Association Staff
• Monthly hybrid meetings
  • Partnered with the Emerging Professionals Committee
• 3-year terms with opportunities for reappointment
• Each zone is represented by an active Engineers Nova Scotia registrant in good standing

Committee Responsibilities:

• Zone Representatives help:
  • Introduce registrants to Engineers Nova Scotia's mission, structure, programs, and volunteer opportunities
  • Raise awareness of Council, committees, constituent associations, awards, events, and other engagement opportunities
  • Encourage mentorship, peer networking, and community-building within their zones.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement within their area
• Representatives support the planning and promotion of:
  • Networking and social events
  • Professional development opportunities, workshops, and information sessions
  • Volunteer activities and community outreach initiatives
  • Technical presentations and educational awareness events with local universities and organizations.

Requirement to Join:

• EIT or P.Eng. in good standing
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint recommended
