The Young Professionals Committee is launching a pilot mentorship program and are looking for interested members to be part of the pilot. This program has nothing to do with licensure but is focused on creating community within the profession and supporting each other in a mentoring relationship. This program will not be a 1:1 match, but rather, groups of nine with three core members.
We are looking for a number of individuals to form cores in each of the following categories who will commit to participating in the pilot for a year.
Senior leader – A P.Eng. member who is mid-to-late in their career; keen on mentoring; any background
Junior/Intermediate engineer – An EIT or P.Eng.; very keen on mentoring; any background
Non-engineer – Community member; any stage of career; keen on mentoring and building professional relationships; can’t be an engineer
The groups will ultimately consist of the core (one senior leader, one junior/intermediate engineer and one non-engineer?), three intermediate/junior engineers and three engineering students. We are hoping to have 3-5 groups in the pilot but will accommodate interest as best we can.
If you are interested in taking part in the pilot, please identify which category best describes you and email Rosalie@engineersnovascotia.ca. If you have any questions please send those as well.
