Committee type: CEO Advisory Committee — Subcommittee of the Student Affairs Committee

Help introduce young people to the possibilities of engineering and STEM. The Youth Engagement Subcommittee builds relationships with community partners, supports programs and events for youth, and creates opportunities for engineers to connect directly with students. Volunteers can inspire the next generation, broaden participation among underrepresented groups, and make a meaningful contribution to their communities.

Committee Information:

• Supported by the Director of Professional Sustainment and Association Staff
• Hybrid meetings, minimum of six meetings per year
• 3-year terms with opportunities for reappointment

Committee Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with organizations that promote engineering and STEM to youth in Nova Scotia
• Plan events that promote engineering and STEM to youth
• Opportunities for Engineers Nova Scotia registrants to participate in youth engagement through presentations, activity kits, and similar initiatives

Requirement to Join:

• EIT or P.Eng. in good standing
• Knowledge of MicrosoftTeams and SharePoint recommended
