Engineers Nova Scotia is exploring the future of its Women in Engineering initiatives, and we are looking for volunteers who want to be part of the conversation.

Over the past several years, Engineers Nova Scotia has been reviewing how best to support women in engineering in a way that is aligned with our public interest mandate, our EDIA commitments, and the long-term sustainability of the profession. As a result, we are exploring new approaches that may include a Women in Engineering Advisory Board and a Council Task Force to help inform future direction.

To do this well, we need a broad range of perspectives.

We are interested in hearing from:

• Women engineers at all career stages
• Engineering students and Engineers-in-Training
• Engineers working in consulting, industry, utilities, government, academia, construction, technology, and other sectors
• Internationally educated engineers
• Senior leaders and experienced professionals
• Allies, mentors, sponsors, employers, educators, and champions who want to support women in engineering

While many challenges and opportunities are shared across the profession, others are unique to particular sectors, workplaces, career stages, and lived experiences. The more perspectives we hear, the better equipped we will be to identify meaningful and practical ways to support the profession.

Adding your name today does not commit you to a volunteer role. It simply lets us know that you are interested in this work.

Those who express interest will be added to our contact list and will receive updates as plans develop. Over the coming year, we expect to share information about consultation opportunities, networking events, volunteer roles, the proposed Advisory Board, and future Task Force activities.
