The Sustainability Committee focuses on the environmental, energy, and sustainability issues shaping the future of engineering. Members advise on emerging challenges, contribute to policy discussions, promote awareness, and support learning opportunities for engineers and the public. This committee offers professionals a practical way to advance sustainable solutions across Nova Scotia.

Committee Information:

• Supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Association Staff 
• Hybrid meetings monthly
• 3-year terms with opportunities for reappointment

Committee Responsibilities:

• Provides input on sustainability issues affecting engineering practice
• Monitors sustainability issues arising at the provincial and national levels and assesses how these issues may impact the practice of engineering in Nova Scotia
• Develops sustainability-focused articles for Engineers Nova Scotia publications, including The Engineer magazine
• Identifies professional development sessions and sustainability-related learning opportunities for registrants

Requirement to Join:

• EIT or P.Eng. in good standing
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint recommended
• Completed and submitted volunteer application (found under the committee's tab of your Engineers Nova Scotia profile Link here
