As a member of the Board of Examiners, you will help maintain the standards of the engineering profession in Nova Scotia. You’ll review qualifications, evaluate pathways to licensure, and help ensure future engineers meet the competencies expected of the profession. This is a meaningful opportunity for experienced professionals to share their judgment and help shape the future of engineering in the province.

Committee Information:

• Supported by the Director of Registration and Association Staff
• Hybrid meetings, minimum of nine meetings per year
• 3-year terms with opportunities for reappointment, appointments endorsed by Council
• Carries out responsibilities established under the Engineering Profession Act
• Supports assessments with the CBA system

Committee Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and assessing academic credentials, including degrees, diplomas, certificates and other qualifications submitted by applicants
• Evaluating applications for:
  • Professional Engineer
  • Limited Engineering License
  • Engineer-in-Training
• Other duties as required

Requirements to join:

• P.Eng. in good standing, 5 years engineering experience in Canada is recommended
• Must reside in Nova Scotia
• Prior regulatory volunteer experience recommended
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint recommended
