Exams
There are three categories of exams that may apply to applicants throughout their path to registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- The Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE): This online exam is administered by NCEES and is not required for all applicants. More information can be found on the FE page.
- National Technical Exams (NTE): These online exams are administered by Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) and are not required for all applicants. More information can be found on the NTE page.
- National Professional Practice Exam (NPPE): This online exam is administered by Yardstick and is required for all applicants before they can be registered as a professional engineer in Canada. More information can be found on the NPPE page.
If you require special accommodations when taking exams, please submit your request via email to exams@engineersnovascotia.ca. Please note that confirmation from a medical practitioner may be requested.
Engineers Nova Scotia does not endorse and is not affiliated with any third-party exam preparatory organizations. Completion of any third-party prep course is done at the discretion of the candidate and there is no guarantee as to the appropriateness of the content or the level of preparedness it provides.
