CPD Audit Resources
As outlined in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guidelines, CPD reporting will be reviewed for general compliance by Engineers Nova Scotia. A more comprehensive review of selected individual Registrants’ CPD activities can be undertaken through a randomly selected CPD Audit.
Council recently approved a CPD Audit Policy, which provides a consistent and transparent framework for the auditing of CPD submissions reported by Registrants of Engineers Nova Scotia. The CPD Audit Policy was developed by the CPD Committee, with support from staff, following a review of CPD audit programs and practices used by engineering regulators across Canada, and other local regulators. The Committee reviewed and refined the draft policy at several meetings in mid-2026, ensuring alignment with regulatory best practices and the Association's CPD Guidelines. The auditing of Registrants' 2026 CPD activities will commence in early 2027.

Additional support documentation is being developed to help clarify the CPD Audit process, and will be made available once a final review has been completed by the CPD Committee.
