Events
National Engineering Month (NEM) takes place during the month of March.
"NEM" is a month long celebration designed to:
· increase awareness of the importance of engineering and technology in our everyday lives, and;
· encourage young people to consider a career in engineering
Each year during National Engineering Month, hundreds of volunteers from all across Nova Scotia participate and organize events that are both educational and entertaining and can be enjoyed by everyone. A lot of time and planning is invested into the organization of National Engineering Month. The Engineers Nova Scotia Student Affairs Committee is actively seeking volunteers to help coordinate the Egg Drop Competitions. These competitions have become very popular and are held in Junior High Schools, with more than 1000 students participating. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Heidi McKnight-Whitford (HeidiMWhitford@engineersnovascotia.ca).
