Renewal Season is Coming — What to Expect This Year
Renewals will open soon, and you’ll notice a few changes to the information we ask you to provide.
The new and updated questions will help Engineers Nova Scotia better understand who our registrants are, the work they do, and the information and opportunities they find useful.
We use this information to:
- Offer content and professional development that reflects your area of practice.
- Identify subject matter expertise across the profession.
- Improve how we recruit and engage volunteers.
- Support regulatory, workforce, and profession-wide planning.
- Connect registrants with opportunities that match their experience and interests.
You may be asked to review or update the following:
Employment and Practice Information: You’ll be asked to confirm or update your employer, employment status, current practice information, and areas of engineering practice. Keeping this information current helps us maintain accurate records.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Reporting: CPD reporting is a requirement of the CPD program. Registrants are encouraged to report activities throughout the year and will be asked to review and submit any 2026 CPD activities during renewal.
CBA Assessors: Qualified registrants will be able to indicate their interest in serving as a Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) Assessor. We’ll use this information to identify potential assessors and support the CBA program.
Volunteer Interests: You will also be asked about your interest in volunteering with Engineers Nova Scotia. This could include serving on a committee or working group, supporting outreach or taking part in another volunteer opportunity. Keeping this information current will help us contact you when a suitable role becomes available.
Demographic and Equity Information (where applicable): Providing demographic information allows Engineers Nova Scotia to review the information in aggregate to better understand Nova Scotia’s engineering community and guide our equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility efforts.
Please allow a few extra minutes to review your information when you renew.
Completing your annual renewal is required to maintain your licence to practise engineering in Nova Scotia. Keeping your profile current helps ensure we have the information needed to support registrants and deliver relevant programs and services.
Payment of your annual dues invoice is also part of the renewal process. 2027 annual dues invoices will be available when the renewal period opens in mid-November 2026.
We’ll share renewal dates and instructions closer to the opening of the renewal period. Thank you for keeping your information up to date.
