2026 Engineers Nova Scotia Award Recipients Announcement

Honouring engineering excellence, service, and community leadership in Nova Scotia. 

Engineers Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Engineers Nova Scotia Awards. These annual awards recognize registrants who have demonstrated excellence in engineering practice, leadership, service to the profession, and contributions to the community. 

This year’s recipients will be formally recognized at the Engineering Excellence Gala on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Sandman Signature Dartmouth Hotel & Suites, 2973 Wilkinson Avenue, Dartmouth, as part of Engineers Nova Scotia’s annual celebration of the engineering profession.

 
The 2026 Engineers Nova Scotia award recipients are: 

F.H. Sexton Gold Medal: 

  • Robbie Fraser, M.Sc., P.Eng.  

Engineering Award:

  • Barret Kurylyk, P.Eng.

  • Wade Pottie, P.Eng., P.E.

Citizenship Award:

  • John F. Meisner, P.Eng.

  • Mila MacLean, P.Eng.

S.L. Devereaux Award for the Advancement of Women in the Engineering Profession:

  • Andrea Doncaster, P.Eng.

  • Patricia Duncan, P.Eng.

L.A. White Young Engineer Award:

  • Jade Farr, P.Eng.

  • Kirk Herman, P.Eng., CEM

 

This year’s theme, “Engineers Open Doors: Shaping a Responsible Future,” highlights the role of engineers in navigating change through innovation, ethics, and community impact, while exploring emerging technologies such as AI and the responsibilities that come with them.
