The Province of Alberta Court upholds Canadian Council of Innovators position to exempt the term software engineer from regulation.

The recent decision by the Alberta Government allows the Canadian Council of Innovators to freely use the title of “Software Engineer” without the requirements of registration with APEGGA as regulator of engineering in the Province of Alberta.

In light of this recent decision and its impact across Canada and the other 11 regulators, an open letter to the premier of Alberta summarizing opposition to Bill 7 has been sent.
