Sustainable Engineering Practice' Research - Call for Participants

Feb 11, 2021 12:00 AM

To whom it may concern,

My name is Austin Murnaghan, MSc candidate at the Faculty of Sustainable Design
Engineering, and I am hoping to recruit research participants who are practicing engineers. I
would like eligible participants to meet with me to discuss sustainability and how it is applied in
their engineering practices. More specifically, this study delves into the following three areas:

  • The effectiveness of existing sustainability frameworks in engineering practices
  • The understanding of an engineer’s mindset in terms of sustainability
  • Sustainability performance indicators and how they are applied in engineering practices

Participation is not limited to engineers whose practice relates directly to sustainability, all
interested engineers are welcome. Participation in the study solely involves answering questions
in regards to the three research areas which will allow for the documentation of recent
developments in engineering sustainability and complement what is found in existing literature.
All participants who complete the interviews will be provided:

  • An anonymized summary of the findings

All collected information will be kept strictly confidential; any published data will not be
personally identifiable. The time required to complete the interview is approximately 60 minutes
and the interviews will be conducted via Zoom. You may stop the interview at any point and/or
request your responses to not be included in the recorded data.

If you are interested in participating, please contact me via email. However, please note that not
all interested participants will be contacted for an interview.
