Sisters of Science (SOS) is an all-girls FIRST Lego League (FLL) robotics team based in Kingston, Nova Scotia. The team was founded in 2014 with a mission to inspire local girls toward careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

On Feb 16, 2019, the team placed 3rd overall at the maritime regional championship at Acadia University. They also won the Innovative Solution Award for their project entry, received the regional nomination for the FLL Global Innovation Award, and qualified to attend the Mountain State Invitational competition in West Virginia this coming July. The team is currently fundraising to cover our registration and travel costs to attend the competition in West Virginia.

Nominations for the FLL Global Innovation award are distributed globally through FLL regions and the top 20 teams are selected as se mi-finalists to travel to San Jose, California, to compete for the award. If Sisters of Science qualify as a semi-finalist they will forego attending the Mountain State Invitational (passing that bid to the next qualified NS team) and travel to San Jose instead.

FLL Global Innovation Awards - San Jose, California

Key Dates: Submission March 25 Notification of TOP 20: April 15

San Jose Presentation: June 30-July 2 Estimated cost $20,000

SOS Ticket Auction, Saturday April 27th, Kingston Fire Hall, Sparky Street, Kingston.
