AARMS Girl Guides Event - Halifax

May 11, 2019 - May 12, 2019

Saint Mary's University or Dalhousie University Campuses (exact locations TBD)

Engineers Nova Scotia is pleased to be partnering with the Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences (AARMS) and Girl Guides of Nova Scotia to engage approximately 600 girls aged 11-17 by providing engineering workshop sessions on Saturday, May 11th from 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM and Sunday, May 12th from 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM in Halifax.

Volunteers should arrive at 9:00 AM (for the morning sessions) and 12:45 PM (for afternoon sessions) on Saturday and 8:15 AM on Sunday to prepare for the arrival of the girls.

This event will encourage Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers to learn about Science - Technology - Engineering - Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, have fun and meet you, the role models. We believe girls won't become what they don't see, so please don't hesitate to volunteer -- showing up is more than half the job. Also, it is a fun way to meet your peers.

Due to this event being a partnership with Girl Guides Nova Scotia, only female volunteers can participate.  If you are interested in supporting other outreach initiatives, please contact beth@engineersnovascotia.ca

Volunteering for this event will qualify for 4 PD Hours under the Participation category.

Note: This is a volunteer registration, to register your Guide, Pathfinder or Ranger please contact Girl Guides Nova Scotia or your Unit Leader.
