Atlantic Stormwater Conference 2017 - Halifax

Jun 22, 2017 - Jun 23, 2017

Atlantic Stormwater Conference 2017

DESCRIPTION

Inadequate stormwater management is contributing to poor water quality, reduced groundwater reservoirs, unhealthy ecosystems, increased erosion and added stresses on our infrastructure. Atlantic Canadian municipalities are struggling to balance the increased pressure on their stormwater systems with growing maintenance and replacement costs for aging infrastructure. Clean Foundation is partnering with the Canadian Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) to host the 3nd Atlantic Stormwater Conference.

The first day of the conference will feature presentations and panel discussions, focusing on:

  • solutions to practical questions about green infrastructure,
  • winter performance and maintenance of green infrastructure, and
  • how to communicate about stormwater to non-experts.

Industry leaders will also be showcasing their products and innovative stormwater solutions.

The second day will comprise a training session presented by stormwater expert Chris Denich of Aquafor Beech Limited. This full-day workshop will give hands-on, practical guidance on planning and implementing effective stormwater Low-Impact Developments (LIDs) in cold climates. This training is particularly geared toward municipal stormwater staff, developers, and anyone else interested in developing an effective plan for managing stormwater at a city-wide or regional level. Note: seats are limited for this workshop day.

We will do our best to accommodate your needs so that you can fully enjoy the conference. If there is anything you would like for us to know, please contact Camilla Melrose by phone at (902) 420-7933 or by email at water@clean.ns.ca. Note that this will be a scent-free event.
