This workshop is designed for professionals in, or associated with, resource development industries. It builds on previous workshops, conferences and government initiatives on the topic of community engagement.

The workshop is being presented by Geoscientists Nova Scotia (APGNS) as part of the Continuing Professional Development and Competency Assurance Program and is it is funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources (NSDNR) through the Nova Scotia Mineral Incentive Program (NSMIP).

 

The workshop will held in the 3rd floor boardroom at the NSDNR office and will be presented by Fred Bonner, P.Geo, FGC.

Presenter:

Fred Bonner B.Sc, M.ASc, MURP, P.Geo, FGC.

Fred holds a BSc in Geology (Saint Mary’s) and MSc in Applied Science and Planning from Dalhousie (DalTech).  He has worked in various roles in the natural resources and environmental planning sectors for over 30 years.

 

His executive and government work helped establish programs in land use and environmental geology and in industry. Fred currently focuses his consulting work for communities and companies on sustainability and mining, rural community capacity-building, and environmental and strategic planning. His passion is finding creative ways to help resource companies and communities to better understand each other.

 

Fred is an active volunteer at the provincial and national levels with land reclamation groups, professional associations and he is a past-President of Geoscientists Nova Scotia.
