Join us for an adventurous and scenic outing to Georges Island, hosted by the Emerging Professionals Committee. You'll explore one of Halifax’s iconic landmarks while connecting with fellow engineers in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Whether you're interested in history, fresh air, or just looking to meet new people in the community, this casual excursion is a perfect way to spend your Saturday.

Please arrive at 9:45 am at the Cable Wharf, 1751 Lower Water St., Halifax, ready to board. The Ambassatours ferry will depart at 10 am with our group bound for Georges Island. The ferry returns from the island to Halifax every 40 minutes, beginning at 10:20 am.

Return time is flexible, and you may choose your own preferred length of time to stay, but a typical amount of time to spend touring the island is two hours. Some drinks and light snacks will be provided as we gather to socialize and network, but attendees are permitted to bring their own food/drinks. We encourage participants to consider bringing adequate water to drink and to pack sun protection.

This event is open to both registrants and non-registrants. Space is limited to 25 participants.

PLEASE NOTE:

Smoking/vaping/alcohol are not permitted on the island. Non-service animals are not permitted on the boat/island.

In case of inclement weather: Before you travel, please confirm the island will be open: check the Ambassatours Gray Line website, or call Parks Canada at 902-426-5080. Learn more about this legendary landmark here
