HCi3 - Funding & Financing for Deep Retrofits
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Room 6 - The Hampton Inn, 1960 Brunswick Street, Halifax, NS
Description
Financing is one of the key barriers to undertaking a deep building retrofit. This workshop will enhance participants’ knowledge of funding and financing strategies and share some innovative tactics that support organizations to meet their retrofit goals. The workshop design will facilitate networking and peer-to-peer learning among building owners, building managers, policy makers, and those from the financial sector.
Workshop elements include:
- A panel on funding and financing sources and strategies using both sides of the budget sheet, including common and innovative ways to finance projects and identification of risks and mitigation strategies
- A senior leader’s panel to share insights and key advice on how project decisions are made, including what key elements are important in a business case.
- Peer-to-peer learning breakouts, where participants can engage in facilitated dialogue about specific financing strategies (e.g., energy performance contracting, on-bill financing, commercial property-assessed clean energy (PACE), preferential loan products, energy as a service, and green leasing).
Participants can expect to leave this workshop with enhanced confidence about the range of financing options open to them, new connections and curated resources summarizing key financial strategies discussed.
