Since its inception in 1985, the CEC has been an annual celebration of engineering excellence, bringing together Canada’s brightest students to tackle real-world challenges. This year, we are inviting you to join us! This is a fantastic opportunity for high school students and new graduates to explore the world of engineering, meet industry professionals, and discover potential career pathways! Interested individuals are invited to attend the following events:

Public Career Fair: Buzzing with some of the top engineering companies nation-wide as well as some of the best Dalhousie Engineering student-run societies, the CEC public career fair provides never-before-seen opportunities for both students and industry professionals alike. The atrium is filled with future career prospects, invaluable outside-of-class learning, and companies seeking the brightest minds to shape the future of engineering. Here, you'll have the opportunity to meet and network with companies like Hatch, Irving Oil, Pepsico, and many more!

Junior and Senior Design Demos: Junior and senior design teams come together for exciting hour and a half long sessions to demonstrate their final designs.

Innovative Design Exhibition: For 2 and a half hours, walk around the public symposium to learn/hear from presenting competitors about the technical innovations they have designed. The design prompt is open, therefore there will be something interesting to all diverse members of the public, from university/high school students, kids, teachers, parents and more!

Debate: There are six debate sessions occuring throughout the day, where competitors will debate topics centered around ethics in engineering. Drop in for one or more sessions to hear how our future engineers approach these engineering dilemmas.

CEC Partner Sessions: The CEC Partner Sessions are 45-minute presentations provided by representatives from some of the top engineering companies in the nation; aimed to showcase the engineering industry through the lens of its leaders. Through the presentation sessions, and live Q&A with industry professionals, attendees are provided with a unique opportunity to gain insight into the best engineering companies in the nation. There is no better event to network with engineering industry leaders and gain valuable career insight that will pave the way for success in their engineering journey
