Updates to Ontario's Building Code

Description: Significant new requirements came into effect for the 2024 edition of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) on Jan. 1, 2025, to harmonize with the National Building Code of Canada (NBC). The construction industry has a three-month transition period until the new code will apply to all permit applications. This timely session will address many of the changes between the 2012 and 2024 OBC, particularly those to Part 3, and build on engineers' working knowledge of the code.
