Join the Movement Toward Sustainable Building Design: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Workshop for Built Environment Professionals- Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects, Planners and Building and AEC Professionals.
As professionals shaping the future of Canada's built environment, your expertise is crucial in addressing the pressing challenge of climate change. The built environment is the third-highest source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Canada, and all built environment professionals play a pivotal role in reducing this impact.
To lead the shift towards regenerative and low-carbon design, understanding embodied carbon throughout a building's life cycle is essential. That's why the RAIC, in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), invites you to participate in an important hands-on Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Workshop. This workshop, designed specifically for industry professionals like you, will empower you with the knowledge and practical skills to assess and reduce GHG emissions in your projects.
Why Attend?
- Gain comprehensive insight into the total GHG emissions of a building—from material extraction and manufacturing to installation, replacement, and end of life.
- Engage in a hands-on workshop, where you will learn how to perform LCAs in small groups using real-life case studies.
- Build competencies in LCA software and methodologies that will enable you to make a tangible impact on your designs.
- Network with peers and experts in your field, working towards common sustainability goals.
Don't take our word for it, here is what participants are saying:
"Thank you for facilitating an amazing conference on LCA and its powerful role in the fight against climate change."
"This workshop is one of the best I have attended. The hands-on experience is amazing!"
Workshop Details:
- Locations: Regina, Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax, and Montreal
- Dates: February - May 2025
- Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate listing 6 hours of structured learning.
