Call for nominations: EDI leaders in engineering workplaces

Dec 1, 2021 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM

Engineers Canada is seeking nominations for speakers and leaders to profile at the 2022 30 by 30 Conference, to be held on April 23, 2022.

The theme of the 2022 conference is Emerging Leadership. The goal of the 30 by 30 initiative is to change the engineering profession to better reflect Canadian society, which will require a shift in leadership and leadership culture. The aim of 30 by 30 Conference is to provide guidance for allies to create space for women, gender diverse individuals, and other emerging leaders. We will also develop skills and share knowledge to prepare women and gender diverse individuals to self-advocate and uplift others.

We are looking for nominations in two categories:

  1. Individual leaders in engineering workplaces who use their platforms to further women and gender diverse people’s presence in the engineering profession.

  2. Engineering employers who are leaders in changing workplace culture towards being more inclusive and equitable for a diverse workforce. While there are individual leaders within each organization, this category recognizes employers who are making system wide changes.

To be considered, nominations must be submitted by email to Yasemin Tanaçan-Blacklock, Associate, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at yasemin.tanacan-blacklock@engineerscanada.ca and contain all submission requirements by December 1, 2021.
