The Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Engineering is given annually to a team, company, government department or consortium of professional engineers, who through original achievement or creative accomplishment in the application of engineering principles, and excellence in engineering design, demonstrates a high quality of professional engineering standards. The engineering achievement should show economic benefit and highlight Nova Scotian leadership in the practice of engineering.

Nova Scotia Power Inc. will present on the “Mobile Radio Communications System-Emergency NSPI Mobile Radio Project”. The province-wide Mobile Radio System provides voice communications for personnel who are working in the field, including line crews, supervisors, field planners, System Maintenance and others. The system provides enhanced wireless capabilities, allowing improvements in real time information flow and connectivity, resulting in improved production and customer service levels. The system proved itself to be invaluable during Hurricane Dorian in September 2019.
