EA Engineering is a growing electrical engineering firm based in Charlottetown, PEI. Since our incorporation in 2016, we’ve steadily expanded our portfolio across the Maritime provinces. Our work spans educational, recreational, mixed‑use residential, commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities, as well as municipal infrastructure, photovoltaic systems, and electrical system studies. With continued growth, we are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to support the expansion of our operations within the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Position Overview
This role is intended for a candidate located in Halifax, NS, who will play a key part in building EA Engineering’s presence in the region. The successful candidate will work independently while collaborating closely with our Charlottetown team, representing the firm during client meetings and site visits, contributing to business development, and supporting the establishment of a Halifax office. Project work will include electrical design and drafting for low‑voltage power distribution, lighting, motor controls, fire alarm, communications, and security systems across healthcare, municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Business development within the Halifax region
- Meeting with clients and attending site visits on behalf of EA Engineering
- Electrical building system design for a wide range of facilities
- Preparing and verifying drawings, reports, and technical specifications
- Supporting tender processes, including issuing addenda
- Reviewing shop drawings
- Providing construction support, including site inspections, contractor coordination, and responding to technical questions
Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia and Engineers PEI
- 3–4+ years of experience in building electrical design
- Strong communication skills and confidence representing the firm during client and contractor interactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical documentation
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with AutoCAD; Revit experience considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits
Compensation & Benefits
- $80,000-$120,000 based on experience
- Two weeks of paid vacation
