Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Middleton NS office. In this role, you will play a vital part in designing, managing, and overseeing various civil engineering projects. Your expertise will help ensure the successful completion of land development projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while advancing your professional growth.
 
Duties
Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to medium scale construction projects related to land development in a safe, timely and sustainable manner with specific emphasis on water distribution systems, sanitary sewage systems (both gravity and pressurized), storm drainage system/retention pond design and municipal street design.
Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
Assess potential risks, materials and costs
Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials
Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc. and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
Requirements
Proven working experience in civil engineering
Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
Project management and supervision skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Licensed Professional Engineer
BSc in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 5 years experience
 
 
Salary & Benefits
Salary range of $100,000 to $150,000 per year
Monday to Friday (40hrs per week).
