Strum Consulting, is presently expanding our Geotechnical Engineering Division and has an opening in our Halifax, NS & St. John’s, NL office location for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.

Role Description:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will support the Geotechnical Division by applying engineering principles to both field and office work, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and client interaction.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Strum’s health and safety program and ensure safety procedures and protocols are followed.
- Project manage geotechnical investigations, including borehole and test pits, sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Prepare proposals and detailed geotechnical reports with recommendations for foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, and earthworks.
- Manage, supervise and support junior staff in the field, office and laboratory.
- Participate in business development events and client liaison.
- Attend and participate in weekly internal meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of projects within the schedule.
- Support existing teams while demonstrating ability to work independently and as part of a larger close-knit team.
Attributes and skills:
- Professional Engineer, licensed or eligible for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia or Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador.
- 10 years of applicable experience.
- Geotechnical consulting background is an asset.
- Willingness to learn and work as a member of a team comprised of surveyors, engineers, technicians, environmental scientists, and biologists.
- Strong attention to detail, motivation, and excellent communications skills.
- Possess professional demeanour and communicate with excellent verbal and written skills in English.
