Structural Designer
Job Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the selection of preliminary technical solutions for projects, conduct research on structural design plans, and propose design requirements.
2. Responsible for structural construction drawing design, coordination and cooperation during the design process, and quality control of design deliverables.
3. Resolve structural design issues arising during the construction process.
4. Communicate with prefabricated housing manufacturers in China to ensure the prefabricated houses meet code requirements.
5. Strong sense of responsibility, proactive and motivated, with strong team collaboration skills.
6. Supervise construction contractors and handle on-site issues related to the structural discipline.
Qualifications:
1. Full-time bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
2. Candidates must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a professional engineer (or engineer-in-training) with Engineers Nova Scotia, and must maintain their licensure in good standing for the duration of their employment as an engineer.
3. More than 5 years of experience in structural design projects for public buildings or villas; experience with large-scale projects is preferred.
4. Familiar with relevant structural codes, professional knowledge, and system operations; knowledgeable about the latest technologies in the domestic and international construction industry; proficient in common structural design software.
5. Strong analytical and logical thinking skills; highly dedicated and responsible.
