Status: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Nanaimo, BC or Victoria, BC
Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 (based on 37.5 hrs. / week)

Employment Opportunity:
We are actively involved in a wide range of public and private sector projects throughout British Columbia with the majority of our work on Vancouver Island. Herold Engineering (Industrial, Marine and Bridge Group) is looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer with 5 to 10 years of P.Eng. experience in the bridge or marine structural engineering industry, preferably with design and construction site experience and proficiency in a project engineering role.

Roles and Responsibilities
The position would be working closely with experienced Structural Bridge Engineers who will provide mentorship and collaboration.
Our project sizes are well diversified and range from small to large projects generally including the following:
• Assessment and reporting for existing structures
• Greenfield and brownfield structural design
• Structural Design in steel, concrete and timber
• Construction related field work
• Design team mentoring
• Project Engineering and design team management
Requirements:
Eligible candidates:
• should be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC
• should have experience in steel, concrete and timber design
• will be keen to learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• will be willing to develop new skills
• can adapt to Herold Engineering’s philosophy of diversification and should be comfortable dealing directly with a wide range of government and private sector clients.
• have a valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s license and willing and able to travel as needed in order to service our numerous projects located throughout British Columbia.
• can attend active construction sites as part of the job
• should be familiar with the process of periodic engineering review of works-in-progress, to determine general conformity with design documents.
• should be familiar with current local code requirements
• with past experience working on a broad range of marine and bridge projects are preferred.
