EfficiencyOne is looking for a termProject Manager who will manage a Deep Energy Retrofit Pilot with the Town of Bridgewater (TOB) at EfficiencyOne. The key objectives of the Pilot are to:

  • Reduce and stabilize energy expenses for participating Bridgewater residents by achieving an overall program average of 52% energy reduction.
  • Reduce annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from participating Bridgewater homes by 6.3 tonnes of CO2e per dwelling (51% reduction)
  • Provide this pilot to 125 dwellings (88 single-family homes, 37 multifamily units) by March 31, 2024.

The pilot will leverage existing Provincial and Federal incentives and financing mechanisms to reduce energy-efficient upgrade costs for participants. The Project Manager will be responsible for completing a detailed pilot design and delivering the pilot to achieve the objectives. The Project Manager will coordinate between the Town of Bridgewater (TOB), participating Bridgewater residents, relevant EfficiencyOne program staff, and financing partners to meet the goals of the pilot and they will be responsible to design, develop and manage all aspects of the pilot.

A snapshot of what you will be involved with:

  • Develop and maintain all aspects of the Deep Retrofit Pilot, but not limited to:
  • participant eligibility criteria, pre-retrofit criteria guidelines/selection criteria, retrofit plan, system/equipment eligibility, participant processes, participant intake, participant and contractor coordination, stakeholder coordination, website content, printed materials, application forms, and consent documentation, documenting financing processes, etc.
  • Oversee standard program activities such as: ensuring incentives are paid; providing support to customers, reporting to stakeholders, tracking completed installations and other targets; handling client issues; developing and maintaining the program manual, logic model, evaluation plan, and any other associated documents; supporting evaluation processes and reviewing results of the program evaluation where applicable,
  • Maintain a detailed database of participant information including but not limited to: participant contact information, site details, equipment details, associated costs, energy savings reductions, and financing information
  • Regularly report on and forecast results and status to various parties.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and successful relationship with TOB and other key stakeholders
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Familiarity with energy management and/or modeling software, such as HOT2000 would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and have experience leading, inspiring, and motivating a team to achieve results
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and work independently or within a team
  • Proficient with all MS Office applications (including Teams)
  • Ability to take on new opportunities and challenges, with a passion to continue to develop and grow
  • A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value and drive the business

Experience & Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree, diploma in Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of working knowledge and technical experience with energy efficiency programs and efficient technologies relevant to the residential sector (lighting, HVAC, building envelope, would be considered an asset.
  • Proven demonstration and a keen interest in project management or relevant pilot design and rollout experience
  • Past work with contractors would be considered an asset
  • Other relevant professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement and Verification professional would be considered an asset
  • Understanding residential energy-efficiency upgrades would be considered an asset

What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:   

In the first week, expect to:

  • Meet with the Service Delivery Manager and Program Managers to learn about your job responsibilities, pilot targets and history, and overall program goals.  
  • Job shadow other program managers to learn about their roles and responsibilities.  
  • Read pilot proposals and program manuals for relevant programs to get more familiar with the proposed pilot approach and our tools and processes.  
  • Learn about PACE financing
  • Start performing core duties.  

In the first month, expect to:

  • Perform core duties with moderate support.  
  • Begin development of core program deliverables and reporting; become familiar with the project plan.
  • Establish a performance plan with your manager.
  • Meet with relevant stakeholders, such as the Town of Bridgewater, and begin forming relationships with delivery partners

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Perform core duties with limited support.  
  • Achieve significant progress in adherence to the project plan.
  • Gain buy-in from key stakeholders to support and participate in the pilot.
  • Report on program development progress and meet with relevant external partners.
