Position:

Efficiency One is looking for a term Project Manager who will be responsible for leading the Off-oil pilot. This new off-oil pilot will seek to work directly with homeowners who wish to eliminate the use of furnace oil in their homes. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the pilot.

A snapshot of what you will be involved with:

 

  • Assist in the development of a rebate structure for the pilot
  • Assist in the development of Off-Oil engineering design for residential homeowners.
  • Oversee the recruitment of participants for the program.
  • Conduct the procurement and training of contractors for the program.
  • Coordinate the contactor site visits and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate incentive delivery upon completion and verification of each individual project.
  • Perform periodic data collection and reporting of project progress
  • Deliver overall project management of the program and monitor the project budget.
  • Oversee standard program activities such as: ensuring incentives are paid; providing support to customers, reporting to stakeholders, tracking completed installations and other targets; handling client issues; developing and maintaining the program manual, logic model, evaluation plan, and any other associated documents; supporting evaluation processes and reviewing results of the program evaluation where applicable,
  • Maintain a detailed database of participant information including but not limited to: participant contact information, site details, equipment details, associated costs, energy savings reductions, and financing information (if relevant)
  • Regularly report on and forecast results and status to various parties.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and successful relationship with key stakeholders
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Familiarity with energy management and/or modeling software, such as HOT2000 would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and have experience leading, inspiring, and motivating a team to achieve results
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and work independently or within a team
  • Proficient with all MS Office applications (including Teams)
  • Ability to take on new opportunities and challenges, with a passion to continue to develop and grow
  • A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value and drive the business

Experience & Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree, diploma in Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of working knowledge and technical experience with energy efficiency programs and efficient technologies relevant to the residential sector (lighting, HVAC, building envelope, would be considered an asset.
  • Proven demonstration and a keen interest in project management or relevant pilot design and rollout experience
  • Past work with contractors would be considered an asset
  • Other relevant professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement and Verification professional would be considered an asset

What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:   

In the first week, expect to:

  • Meet with the Service Delivery Manager and Program Managers to learn about your job responsibilities, pilot targets and history, and overall program goals.  
  • Job shadow other program managers to learn about their roles and responsibilities.  
  • Read pilot proposals and program manuals for relevant programs to get more familiar with the proposed pilot approach and our tools and processes.  
  • Familiarize yourself with the organization’s culture, HR practices, and procedures
  • Get comfortable with your surroundings
  • Start performing core duties.  

In the first month, expect to:

  • Perform core duties with moderate support.  
  • Begin development of core program deliverables and reporting; become familiar with the project plan.
  • Establish a performance plan with your manager.
  • Meet with relevant stakeholders and begin forming relationships with contractors
  • Deepen your organizational awareness and gain a better understanding of our short- and longer-term project goals

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Perform core duties with limited support.  
  • Achieve significant progress in adherence to the project plan.
  • Gain buy-in from key stakeholders to support and participate in the pilot.
  • Report on program development progress and meet with relevant external partners.
