High Liner Foods (HLF) is the leading North American processor and marketer of value-added frozen seafood. Its retail branded products are sold throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico under the High LinerFisher BoySea Cuisine and Mirabel labels and are available in most grocery and club stores. High Liner also sells branded products under the High LinerIcelandic Seafood, and FPI labels to restaurants and institutions, and are a major supplier of private-label, value-added frozen seafood products to North American food retailers and foodservice distributors.

The Company began in 1899 with the founding of W.C. Smith & Company, a salt fish operation located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia - the current home of HLF’s head office and one of the most modern and diversified food processing plants in the world. Today, HLF employs over 1200 people in Canada, the United States, China, Iceland and Thailand.

High Liner is in search of a General Manager, Lunenburg to lead its plant-based operations. This role is instrumental in leading and guiding the production team to instill best practices, meet goals of production, quality, food safety, efficiencies, process compliance, maintenance, and health and safety standards. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, your mission will be to support the strategic goals of the company by actively managing all day-to-day operations for the facility while providing leadership that raises productivity and develops talent. In this high-profile role, you will lead by example and provide strategic direction for the plant, including capital expenditure, business planning, and budget management. You will create and foster a culture of collaboration as you attract, retain, train, and motivate the members of your team while maintaining a health and safety-first focus.

As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated operational experience within a manufacturing or processing facility at the senior leadership level, preferably in consumer-packaged goods.  You have extensive experience in a complex environment and are able to manage and adapt to frequent changes, identify inefficiencies, and ensure operations are consistently cost effective. Safety is of the utmost importance to you and are a strong, ethical leader with a track record of experience at both the strategic and tactical levels. You are able to collaborate successfully with individuals within all levels of an organization and are known for your ability to build relationships and engage effectively with all stakeholders. Your dynamic nature and strong communication skills along with your proven ability to achieve tangible results are hallmarks of your success.
