In combination of both technical experience and community leadership, the Manager of Engineering will guide the growth and accessibility of water and wastewater systems to First Nation communities in the east coast. There is a significant value in this role attached to environmental stewardship and Indigenous Knowledge. Therefore, it is critical that the Manager of Engineering incorporate First Nations traditional knowledge to further strengthen relationships and reflect the culture of the First Nation communities.
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the manager is responsible for the operation of the Engineering Department including the core activities: asset management, master planning, capital improvement planning, design and construction administration, survey and inspection, and energy efficiency. The Manager of Engineering will directly oversee a Project Engineer, Planning and Development Technologist, Asset Management Technologist, and an Administrative Assistant.
The Engineering Department provides a series of technical services that support the short term and long-term management of the water and wastewater system assets. These activities include asset management (inventory, condition assessment and long-term planning), capital project delivery (design and construction management) and master planning for development and growth.
