3rd Annual NEM Curling Bonspiel

March 3rd from 1:00PM to 7:00PM – Halifax Curling Club, 948 South Bland Street, Halifax

Team registrations are now being accepted for this year's National Engineering Month Curling Showdown.  Each team must consist of at least 2 Engineers Nova Scotia members. Every team will get to play 4 one hour (3-end) games. Compete to establish your team's bragging rights for the year as Nova Scotia's top engineering curling team!  The cost is $200/team and includes pizza in the lounge after the games.  There are only 8 team spaces available, so register today!  Please contact Christine Larocque at christine@engineersnovascotia.ca to register via email or call 902-491-1213 to register by phone.

About the event

Thank you for your interest and participation annual National Engineering Month Bonspiel. Some of you have been asking about the format and the schedule, so if you’re interested please read on:

Schedule

1:00PM to 1:30PM – Meet & Greet / Practice

1:30PM to 2:30PM – Game 1

2:30PM to 3:30PM – Game 2

3:30 PM to 4:00PM – Social Break & Snacks (Ice Maintenance)

4:00PM to 5:00PM – Semi-Final

5:00PM to 6:00PM – Final

6:00PM to 7:30PM – Pizza & Prizes

We will play two 3-end to seed teams, then two more 3-end games for the playoffs. Each game will be 1 hour long. Do not start a new end if there less than 15 minutes left.

Ranking will use a points system as follows:

• 2pts for winning a game
• 1pt for a tie
• 0 pts for a losing the game

As we are only playing 2 games for seeding the teams, we will inevitably need tiebreakers:

• 1^st tie-breaker: Total +/- from the final score of all three games will be used;
• 2^nd tie-breaker: The sum of the points your team scored in all three games will be used
