This event qualifies for 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) for the Engineers Nova Scotia CPD program.

Gary Walsh, Director of Acadia Robotics, will be on hand to introduce everyone to the Wonderful World of Robotics here in Nova Scotia.

A brief overview of the format of the Junior and Senior High Competitions will be provided - which include the local Qualifiers at NSCC Campuses, the Acadia University Provincial Championships, then on to the World Championships in each division.

Approximately 200 Volunteers are required in order to host an event of this magnitude at Acadia - so to administer this properly and efficiently, "Teams of Volunteers" are recruited to take part annually.

Once a Team has been established, member(s) of the Acadia Staff visit them at their own site in order to train and prepare them for specific events at each year's competition.

Examples of various Volunteer Team activities could include:

-Individuals to guide teams to various competition areas

-Individuals to guide spectators to seating and eating areas, etc

-Set Up and Tear Down tasks for the Competition Area

-Judging or Refereeing

-Supervising a Refreshment area or a specific Workspace

-etc

We have partnered with numerous groups in either Business, Education, Industry, and various Communities - and the response has been so positive that these groups continue to Volunteer on an annual basis.

We now hope to partner with Engineers Nova Scotia - and bring any number of interested individuals into our Magical World of Robotics - for many years to come.
