There's been a great deal of literature over the last decade discussing the importance of emotional intelligence and its effect on relationship and team dynamics.  What is EQ though?  And how can it be quantifiably measured?  In this session, Tim will share his approach to assessing this important dimension.  However, once you've measured your EQ, it's not a simple road to implement changes.  There are gremlins in your path!  Learn about these monsters of the mind and how to tame them.  It's sure to be an interesting and fun experience.

Presenter’s BIO:

Tim Brodie retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2012 as an HR Officer with a speciality in Dispute Resolution and team-building.  He takes great pride in relating how he was part of a small and elite team that trained the first unit ever to deploy into a theatre of war with an imbedded collaborative skillset.  The results of this deployment proved extremely positive in the areas of increased effectiveness and efficiency and showed incredible potential for decreasing operational and workplace stress injuries.  He has also experienced a broad spectrum of work environments, having served in operational squadrons across Canada and in United Nations missions overseas.  In recognition of his achievements, in 2008 he was inducted into the Order of Military Merit by then Governor General, the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean

After retirement from the RCAF he was invited to come and work with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Canada’s Atlantic Region where he replicated his successes from the military environment in the community of policing and public service.  He uses a wide variety of Emotional Intelligence (EQ), team-building and coaching models to bring a transformative view to the conflict experience in the organizations and teams he works with.
