Cyber risks have risen significantly over the COVID-19 pandemic as online criminals continue to take advantage of remote work vulnerabilities.  This topical 60 minute webinar will provide participants with an update on the ever-changing data privacy threats impacting Canadian businesses and the potential regulatory shifts on the horizon.  The presentation will then address a scenario involving a ransomware 2.0 attack, with the goal of providing participants with practical tips on the types of policies to have in place before a data incident, the response steps required to deal with a cybersecurity breach, and the various liability concerns and notification requirements that may arise.  Closing remarks will summarize how participants can take the lessons learned from the session and apply them to their day-to-day operations.
