Dalhousie University Mechanical and Materials Engineering Conference - Halifax

Dalhousie University's Faculty of Engineering, Mechanical and Materials Department is hosting their annual graduate student conference on April 27th, 2017. The conference is an incredible opportunity to learn about advancements in the field, opportunities for collaboration on industry challenges and hear from the fantastic student researchers. This year, we would like to welcome members of Engineers Nova Scotia to attend.

 

The research will cover thermal and electrical energy storage, materials research, solid mechanics, controls, and renewable energy.

 

Presentations include:

  •          Low velocity impact response of a new class of fiber metal laminates consisting of a 3D fiberglass fabrics
  •          Effects of Process Variables on the Mechanical and Physical Properties of 2xxx Series Aluminum Powder Metallurgy Alloys
  •          Cylindrical Metal Grinding with Grooved Grinding Wheels
  •          Improved haptics for complex virtual environments
  •          Comparison of fin geometries for enhanced melting of thermal storage material.
  •          More to come.

There will be concurrent sessions in each timeslot.

 

A final schedule and exact location will be announced closer to the event. The location will be on Dalhousie University campus in Halifax.

Note: The $15 charge is to provide lunch and coffee. Engineers Nova Scotia has agreed to collect this on our behalf.
